Meet the BAMMA Welterweight Champion ahead of his contribution to the project

"It's important that Safe MMA gets involved, but also, the most important thing is that someone should pay for it. Not the fighters."

Alex ‘Da Kid’ Lohore is a French mixed martial artist who holds a professional record of 14-1. He competes for top UK promotion the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) where he is their current World Welterweight Champion, recently defending his belt against SBG Ireland Prospect Richard Kiely in Dublin. Along with his success at BAMMA, Alex has won titles fighting for several promotions including FightStar Championship, UCMMA and Too Much Talent, and has also competed twice for top US promotion Bellator, winning both fights with impressive stoppages. Having grew up in the Parisian town of Bobigny, Alex moved to London in his teens and began his MMA career fighting out of New Wave Academy in Croydon, but also trains back in Paris at the renowned MMA Factory.

Having previously worked together on media projects for some of his previous fights, I caught up with Alex to speak about his experiences competing in MMA, the state of UK regulation, and how he feels about working with voluntary fighter safety project Safe MMA. Check out this brief clip of our chat:

Stay tuned into the site for more additional content ahead of the doc's release in under a week!
